Infant Care

Last night before our 3rd L&D class we went to our normal spot for dinner. It was there I decided to appoach Eric about the possibility of maybe taking another class, "Infant and Newborn Care".

Me: "Hey, you know what might be fun? For us to take an infant/newborn care class before the baby comes...or would you just rather follow my lead in that department."

Eric: "I don't need it."

Me: "Oh really? You know how to care for a newborn?"

Eric: "Yes"

Me: "You know how to give a newborn a bath?"

Eric: "Just keep the head above water babe -- that's all you gotta know."

Me: "You know you can't submerge the baby's body in water until after the belly button falls off, right?"

Eric: "Huh. Ok then. Windex and papertowels."

I don't think so. I think he'll just look over my shoulder while I do it the first few times -- but he WILL learn.

That was a funny response. I hope he shadows you for more than just the bath!
