Butt Pillow

For the last two weeks, after sitting at my desk for about 5 hours, I get a very annoying pain in my tailbone. At first I thought it was just a fluke but since it didn't subside I came to the conclusion that it might actually be pregnancy related. I did some research. As it turns out -- yes, it most likely is caused by my pregnancy. And being so early on in my pregnancy it's also likely to get worse over the next 27 weeks. Yay! NOT!

In other news it also turns out that, "Occasionally, the baby passing through the birth canal may cause an injury such as a coccyx (tailbone) sprain, a coccyx bruise, a dislocated coccyx and even a coccyx fracture." OH. MY. GOD. Up until this point I had hoped to give birth vaginally. Not because the thought of stretching my vagina until the point of flesh ripping sounds satisfying -- but more so because it's the way God intended it and it has been done for many many generations. But now, all vagina stretching aside, it's the tail bone dislocation that really scares me. I mean, when your tailbone becomes dislocated -- how does it get back to where it's meant to be? After huffing out a human being through my most precious of orifices does a doctor then turn me over and "pop" the tailbone back in place? Not in my conscious lifetime they won't. So I'm left to ponder the 1-2-3 of a simple everyday c-section......

Since I have to work for the next 6 months, and I do so sitting at a desk, I needed to come up with some way to reduce the pain in my butt. Further reading indicates that sitting on a pillow at work should help. I can either do that or buy a "Coccyx Cushion" better known to the world as a "doughnut". I've decided, out of pure shame, to forgo the "coccyx cushion" for now and sit on a lovely floral print pillow instead.

Here's to hoping this pillow does the trick so I don't have to be known as the girl who sits on a doughnut pillow at work.

Just remember that when you do a C-section recovery is much longer and your stomach muscles are cut. My stomach is one of my favorite parts of my body so there is no way in hell anyone is going to cut me open! I will take a broken tail bone.

Can you adjust the lumbar support in your car? My lower leftside of my back was killling me and I just adjusted my car lumbar support and I now sit on a yoga ball at my desk. It may helps!

I will adjust anything I need to! My ass hurts!

P.S. Broken ass or not I'm still going to give it the old hee-ho and go for the vaginal birth. I'm just really hoping that epidural will mask the pain of any and all bone dislocations.

You won't feel a thing.
